- 2 yds matte bridal satin
- Chopstick or something similar to push out the small corners
- Super Butt Bow Tails Pattern Pieces
- Matching thread
- Assembled butt bow loops (see Bow tutorial and leave out classic butt bow tails)
Print the jabot tail pattern pieces, tape together at matching points, and cut out the full pattern. Cut 2 of the pattern on the fold of your satin.
Fold in half with the right sides together and pin the edges.
Stitch around the edges starting with the bottom corner with a 1/2″ seam allowance. Leave about a 2 inch gap from the folded side at the top to turn your tail right side out.
Trim your seam allowance and grade the corners. Turn your pattern right side out and use a chopstick or similar tool to push out the corners from the inside. Press the seams and folded edge. Fold in edges of opening and press.
Topstitch the opening closed.
Assemble the folds as shown below and press the folds once they are evenly spaced (do the reverse for the other tail):
Stitch across the top point folds to hold folds in place (about where the red lines are in the image below).
Trim off any excess from folded top if needed, and handstitch each tail to the back of the butt bow loops.
